Stitching together aerial photos

I take aerial pictures using my Rc controlled model airplanes.

Instead of combining them together manually, I’m looking into how to automate the process. Currently, the following toolchain seems to be worth trying out:

stitching

position the images using autopano-sift
Make a rough stitch using enblend
Compose the final pano using Hugin based on the fantastic Panorama Tools

So, I have new stuff to try out. Next step will be to get away from the 90-degrees-vertical angle of view and try to stitch a matric of 30 degrees camera inclination images. Not sure how to achieve that however in a flat image file.
